JEFF KINGSLEY: 📷"What an awesome weekend we had here at Laguna Seca. This was my first visit to the track and my expectations were quite different from reality. The Corkscrew is much bigger than it appears on a driving sim and the polished, low-grip track surface has to be driven on to be experienced. The competition was tough and the entire field seemed to come up to speed together, so if you had a bad session, you were going to be playing catch up the rest of the weekend."
"We had a little bit of a struggle in Race #1 but Luke [JDX Race Engineer] and the JDX team worked overnight to make some very positive changes to the car for Race #2 and the car was much better and dealt with the changing track conditions very well. We're going to keep our momentum flowing as we head into the final race of the year in Road Atlanta in less than 2 weeks."
SEAN McALISTER: 📷"Laguna Seca is my home track and I'm very comfortable here. Any chance I have to race here is great opportunity and the level of competition in the GT3 Cup series is so high and the drivers are so good that it really elevates my game. Race #1 was a ton of fun, it was green flag racing all the way through and I drove better than I ever have, picked up one position and just really enjoyed myself. Race #2 was my best drive all season and I feel that my race craft is really coming along. I made a great pass early on and gained two positions in one corner by threading the needle between two guys that both made a mistake. This weekend gave me some additional confidence and I'm really looking forward to ending the season on a high note in Road Atlanta."
JEREMY DALE, MANAGING PARTNER/JDX RACING: "It was great to get our team and the GT3 Cup series back to Laguna, as there's so much history and personality at the track. It's a deceptively difficult track to get right and I'm pleased that we came away with a podium finish in Race #2. Sean just missed the podium, which would have been his best result of the 2019 season - but on balance, he had his best weekend of the season. Jeff had never seen the track until Thursday, so his performance was very solid under the circumstances. I'm quite sure he was still unlocking the nuances of Laguna until the last lap of Race #2!"
