SEAN McALISTER: "We had a really exciting weekend at Road Atlanta. It started with a couple good practice sessions that led into my best qualifying. I earned my two best starting positions in GT3 Cup Challenge to date, starting P3 on Saturday and P2 (front row) on Sunday." "For these races, it ended up being a little better to start P3 on the inside lane than in P2 on the outside lane, given the nature of the starting area down to Turn 12, the very fast right hander. Starting in P3 on Saturday, I actually was able to make it up into P2 by Turn 1 and was able to hold that position for several laps. My pace over the weekend was really consistent and fast but just a bit slower than the two guys up front. Thankfully, I was faster than everybody behind me which granted me two podium finishes, 3rd place in both races, my best results in GT3 Cup so far. We’re on a great trajectory to finish the same or better in the coming race weekends." "Super stoked to be taking some trophies for the team, for Shell TapUp, for Byers Porsche and all our partners that have helped immensely this year. I feel like we have earned every point we have collected. Big thanks to the guys at JDX Racing for helping me get here. I was proud to put the No. 11 car on the podium for all of them!" JEREMY DALE, MANAGING PARTNER/JDX RACING: “It's always great to get back to Road Atlanta, as it's one of the truly iconic race tracks in North America. With our revised schedule this year, we'll have five races at Road Atlanta, so it's a very important track to be fast at in 2020. We tested here a couple of weeks ago and it was wet 90% of the time but the rain didn't faze Sean at all. Coming into the race weekend, he was quick right from the first session on Friday and carried that pace nicely through qualifying and into the two races. He had his best results ever in qualifying and just missed the pole in Race Two by less than a tenth of a second! Very impressive.” “Both races were very solid and just as he did in qualifying, Sean had two career best finishes. We missed the setup just a bit for Race Two on Sunday, so our pace wasn't quite as strong, but overall I'm very pleased with the performance and the results." “Sean continues to make great progress and his two podium finishes prove that out. He has been doing such a nice job overall this year, putting in the work between races and testing hard and it's really paying dividends. It will be great to come back here in October for our triple header. In the meantime, we are off to Mid-Ohio for a test and race weekend in a couple of weeks and I'm confident we'll have another strong weekend.”
